The histologic Hallé Orchestra by Samah

On Thursday 12th of November Class 9 had the unmissable chance to see the Hallé Orchestra live at Bridgewater hall at Manchester !
We took a 30 minute coach to get there ,every one was ecstatic to hear them perform there greatest pieces.
We all knew 2 players of the orchestra because earlier that day we had a chance to work with them with lots of different instruments .
My favourite instrument personally is the Bassoon. When we finally arrived it was crowded completely. We were separated into 3 groups to sit in different rows.
The crowd quietened and the lights beamed onto the Orchestra. Nicholas Collon ( the conducter) walked onto the stage and every one clapped .

The first piece a was called Till Eulinspiegal’s merry pranks
Strauss begins musical story with peaceful music . It sounds like the words once upon a time . Then we hear a French horn playing a carefree tune that represents Tills trickery. After this there was a clarinet playing and that represented Tills laughter.

Next was Camille Saint cello concert
He was a great French composer . Remarkably, he wrote his first piece of music when he was just three years old and performed his first concert at just ten. In this piece the solo instrument is a cello.

Wonderful Workshop in Class 9 with the harmonic hallé orchestra!

It was Thursday 12th of November, Mrs Latham announced we’d be having an early breaktime.
She told us that two members of a famous orchestra, the Hallé orchestra, Helen and Maya their names were, they were to come in and do a two hour workshop with our class only! Everyone was ecstatic, but that wasn’t even the best part! The best part was… Tonight at 3:15 we would go home, have our tea, and return to school at 5:45 to then get on a coach at 6… To go to Bridgewater hall in Manchester to watch Hallé orchestra play live and we wouldn’t get back until………… 10:00 pm!
So we had our early break and returned to our class at 10:00 to have our little workshop with Helen and Maya.
We found out Helen plays the Bassoon and Maya, the Cello.
Maya played the cello for us, she’d created a little piece by herself called motorbike crash, she did a distant motorbike rev imitation. Then she rapidly slid the bow across the strings creating a screechy crashing noise, then to finish she played an ambulance siren on the cello.
Whilst listening to Helen, I thought of a poem;
For us, Helen played the bassoon and she played a very funky tune it was really nice to listen to when I heard the music I wanted to move!
The workshop finished at 12:00 O’clock and I’d REALLY enjoyed it!
